Our mother is ninety-two years old and has dementia. Four years ago, Erica started helping Mom shower when it was no longer safe for her to do this on her own. Erica helps Mom at our family seasonal cottage from April to November, with showering, dressing and grooming three times per week.

 

Often if we are around during Erica’s visit, we hear the two of them laughing together in the bathroom. Mom loves Erica because she is kind, compassionate, positive, patient and professional. We love Erica for all of the same reasons.

 

Plus Erica is flexible. She understands Mom’s changing needs and goes “above and beyond” to support her. Erica is very trustworthy, reliable and easy to work with. She has become a key member of our mother’s care team and a friend, for which we are very grateful.

Erica came to help my family in May of 2022. My dad needed full personal care, my mom was dealing with dementia and needed help with some personal care. Neither of them could make meals anymore.   

 

My mom didn't want anyone in the house except for family but Erica's beaming smile won her over. Erica became part of our family in such a short time, both mom and dad loved having her in their home.  

 

Erica helped us for 2 1/2 years. I don't know what we would have done without her, as my sister and I were both working full time. Erica gave us a needed break, and peace of mind.  I will forever be thankful.

This summer I hired Erica to help me at my cottage and it was a complete game changer! I am a wheelchair user and Erica helped me with personal care in the mornings, relieving my husband of those duties, something for which we were both very grateful.

 

Although Erica did not have previous work experience with my condition, on the first day she came prepared having done some research to understand it and even had printouts of my morning routine and range of motion exercises.

 

She is respectful, friendly, and approaches her work with a can-do attitude. As an example, when we decided to rig a temporary outdoor shower for me, Erica gamely removed socks and shoes to help! It's reassuring to know that I now have somebody so competent and trustworthy I can rely on when I am at the cottage.
